God’s Healing

The Bible contains promises of healing from God. Throughout the Old and New Testaments, there are numerous instances where God’s healing power is demonstrated, and specific promises are given to those who SEEK Him for healing.

Proverbs

3:7-8

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones.

James

5:14-16

Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

Isaiah

53:5

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

Psalms

103:1-5

1Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits;
3 Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion;
5 Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Luke

4:40

While the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to Him (Jesus); and laying His hands on each one of them, He was healing them.

Psalms 121:5-8

The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.

1 Peter

2:24

He himself (Jesus)bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

Matthew

4:23

Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.

Luke

13:10-13

10 And He (Jesus) was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11 And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. 12 When Jesus saw her, He called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” 13 And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God.
